Stress, Trauma and Contextual Safeguarding

This might seem an unusual mix of topics, but all I am deeply passionate about. In addition to the themes already listed on this website, I am particularly interested in how stress, overwhelm, and trauma affect the mind and body, especially in the context of disability and long-term condition management and holistic wellbeing.
I am also drawn to the voices of those who are care experienced, adopted, adoptive parents, and those affected by coercive control or child-to-parent violence. It might seem like a bit of a mish-mash, but when these issues start to overlap, especially with others I’ve mentioned, like access to services, the challenges can feel insurmountable.
I have a lot to say about the importance of truly listening to these voices in order to create services that are trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, accessible, and adaptable. Some of my thoughts are confidential or under embargo for now, but the ones I can share will be posted here.
